Where are you from?
I am a lifelong resident of Canonsburg PA. since 1957.
How young are you? (Your age, if you’re comfortable sharing!)
What do you do for a living?
I am fortunate to be retired after 36 years as a Local 3 Ironworker.
How long have you been at St. Clair Fitness?
I have been coming to St Clair for 6 years.
Tell us about your athletic history…
As a boy, I played every sport long enough to find out I wasn't any good at any of them except wrestling. I always thought working as an ironworker would keep me in good condition until during a layoff my wife, Lisa, and I were challenging each other’s fitness routines. She did aerobics and I puttered around on home projects after work. I told her, “I CAN KEEP UP WITH YOU AND YOUR DANCING LADIES!” So I went to step aerobics on a dare and found it to be fun and challenging. From there, I started strength training and always up for a dare, I did a couple of bodybuilding shows in my mid-thirties.
What brought you to St. Clair Fitness?
CrossFit is why I started coming to St. Clair because my gym had closed. After joining, I saw Cliff Goodrow teaching Spin class and knew I was in the right place. Cliff just happened to be the step aerobics instructor who made aerobics fun, challenging and inspiring and he continues to inspire and challenge me to this day.
What’s your favorite way to sweat?
Spin class and Muscle Max are fun for me and the sweat is just pain leaving my body!
My favorite food is chicken, any kind.
I am an action/superhero movie geek. I don't look for a plot, just fights, car chases, and battles with explosions.
I have been binging on Clive Cussler books this year. He’s also an action author.
Favorite music to work out to?
Everyone should KNOW I love Disco to workout. :)
What do you like most about St. Clair Fitness?
St. Clair Fitness has given me a place where I can be the best me; where I can let the good out and maybe help someone. I like the people. I like that it's not a giant corporation. I like that kindness is ever present.
What 3 words would people use to describe you?
Three words? Full of .....
Any mantra, favorite quote, or words to live by?
I have two: 1.) The only constant in life is change. 2.) Adapt and Overcome.
What motivates you/keeps you working out?
Father Time is why I keep working out. I know I can't win, but I'm going to give him a run for his money!!
